The ways in which we remember and forget are shifting. Memory has become a contested terrain, appropriated by reactionary movements, capitalist corporations, and geopolitical interests. Digital technologies are accelerating these trajectories through the spread of disinformation, data extraction, and the algorithmic narrowing of perspectives – while simultaneously opening up new forms of resistant remembrance. The international group exhibition After Memory explores this subversive potential and asks how we may remember and forget in the future.
The exhibition presents works by Noor Abuarafeh, Heba Y. Amin, Maria Thereza Alves, Aram Bartholl, Taysir Batniji, Giselle Beiguelman, Zach Blas, Karolina Grzywnowicz, Ana Hupe, Eduardo Kac, Aline Motta, Rabih Mroué, Vanessa Amoah Opoku and Federico Protto.
The project is curated by Lisa Deml, Nathalia Lavigne and Víctor Fancelli Capdevila.
